How do I book a Consultation-Appointment?

Why do I need to leave a deposit? Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are taken to ensure your punctual presence on the day of your appointment. If you change your mind, fail to show up, or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, your deposit is lost unless otherwise discussed with the artist.
Deposits are non-refundable, but they may be transferable if you need to reschedule your appointment. Any scheduling issues must be reported to us at least 48 hours before your appointment in order to give us the opportunity to make up for the loss.
Do deposits expire?
Yes, deposits expire 6 months after the date of purchase.
What if I need to Cancel an Appointment?
We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for cancellations.
Failing to do so will result in a lost deposit.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes walk-ins are always welcome!
Do you do piercings?
No we do not.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, we welcome friends & family at the shop, please keep in mind that there can be only one person in the tattoo station with you at any time.
Does it hurt?
Yes tattoos do hurt. To what degree will always depend on your pain tolerance, the placement & length of the appointment.
How much does it cost?
Artists charge an hourly rate for large scale pieces (sleeves, back pieces, etc.)
All other tattoos are priced by piece by the artist depending on the size, placement & complexity of the design.
Our minimum charge is 80$+tx
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
At Abyss clients must at least 18 years of age to be tattooed.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, credit & debit.
Can you draw a custom design for me?
Absolutely, in fact, we prefer it.
Can I use numbing cream?
Numbing is not recommended as they can alter the chemical makeup of the skin, and can compromise the quality of the tattoo as well as the healing process.
Do you do temporary tattoos.
No we do not.
Can scars & stretch marks be tattooed over?
It depends on the depth and severity of the scar/stretch marks. We recommend that you book a consultation with your artist to confirm that it can be done.
Do you do finger or inner lip tattoos?
Not all of our artists tattoo these areas.Tattoos on these areas are likely to fade rather quickly & are not covered by our touch-up guarantee.
Can I get tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We cannot tattoo pregnant women, nor can we tattoo nursing mothers who have given birth less than 6 months prior to their appointment.
Can I drink alcohol the night before my tattoo?
Heavy drinking is strongly discouraged the night before your appointment. It will result in thinned blood & can even lead to a poor healing process.
Is it possible to cover up an old tattoo with something new?
Yes, most tattoos can be covered up with something new. We do a lot of cover ups and it’s great to see clients ecstatic with their new pieces. That being said, every tattoo is different and we really need to see the piece before we can give a definitive answer. Don’t guess, give us a call or come by the shop and we can discuss the possibilities.
How much is a normal consultation session's fee?
Consultations are always free of charge.
What if I need to cancel a consultation?
Please give us a call or e-mail us to let us know if you want to reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Should I bring anything to my consultation?
If you have any image references you may bring them to your consultation to show the artist your ideas.
