Tattoo Abyss is a Montreal tattoo studio founded in 2014 by artist Abdala Kaufmann and located in the heart of Griffintown. For over a decade, our studio has offered a safe, welcoming and creatively driven space for custom tattoo work in Montreal.
With degrees in Fine Arts from Dawson College and Concordia University, Abdala brings over 30 years of experience in drawing and painting into every tattoo. Tattooing full-time for the past 15 years, Abby specializes in Cover-ups and custom illustrative designs, blending fine art foundations with skin as canvas.
Tattoo Abyss is home to four experienced tattoo artists in Montreal, each with a distinct visual language. Styles within the studio range from realism and illustrative work to traditional, fine line, neo-traditional, dotwork and geometric tattoo design.
We believe a tattoo is more than decoration — it is a personal decision and a permanent work of art. Our priority is your safety, comfort and clarity throughout the process.

Clients are welcome to bring reference images, inspiration pieces or fully developed concepts. Every project is approached with artistic integrity and technical precision.
We understand that getting a tattoo — especially your first — can feel overwhelming. That’s why we offer free one-on-one consultations with a Montreal tattoo artist to discuss placement, size, design details and the tattooing process.
For traveling clients, long-distance consultations and deposit arrangements can be handled by email or phone or video call.
